Cell phones should be turned off and put away in your locker, from the start of school until the end of school.
Exceptions include:
If a teacher directs students that cell phones will be used for an instructional activity for a specific lesson.
If a student violates the cell phone policy, teacher should call home for the first violation, for successive violations, complete an office referral. There will be a category for cell phone violation added to the electronic referral form.
If a teacher observes a student with a phone, and asks the student to put the phone away and they refuse, or they get it out again in the same class period, it is a major violation, the teacher will complete a referral for a major violation, and send the student to the office.
