We had an intense 2.5 hour Spelling Bee with a new champion that will be moving on to the Scripps WXYZ Channel 7 Spelling Bee on March 24, 2022.
Champion Speller: Hadia Alhalabi, 8th grade
Runner Up: Mohamad Zaidan, 6th grade
We started with 36 spellers from our Language Arts classrooms. The final 10 rounds were with 4 exceptional Aviators:
Hadia Alhalabi (8th grade), Mohamad Zaidan (6th grade), Esma Bezzi (6th grade), Jafar Ridha (6th grade)
We had completed the main study list and needed to go into a champion word list. This doesn’t happen often.
